Sprint to End NBA Sponsorship, According to Reports

Telecommunications giant Sprint is reportedly planning to drop its sponsorship of the NBA.
Following on from the American company’s decision to walk away from the title sponsorship of NASCAR’s sprint cup series, mind officials apparently told the NBA last week that it will not renew the four-year $222m deal originally signed in 2011.
At the time, viagra sale it was the largest sponsorship deal in league history and included rights for the D-League and the WNBA, ampoule becoming the first “marquee partner” for the latter.
Now, many believe Sprint is focused on financing infrastructure improvements and generally being more introspective rather than lavishing money on expensive sports sponsorship contracts.
However, the direction of the company could be simply moving towards partnering with other sports, particularly soccer. New ceo Marcelo Claure, who was appointed last August, owns football club Bolivar in his native Bolivia and has partnered with David Beckham to try and launch a Major League Soccer side in Miami.
Claure said recently: “It frustrated me that one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world didn’t have a soccer team. So that’s why I partnered with David [Beckham]. In the next 60 to 90 days we should be making an announcement that hopefully we will have a team in Miami.”
Claure has previously worked for the Bolivian Football Federation and also sits on FIFA’s Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee.
