Sportlobster Sees Interaction Rocket as it Launches new Prediction Leagues Feature

April 20, 2015

Leading sports social network, arthritis Sportlobster, sale has today announced the launch of their new ‘Prediction Leagues’ feature, and released figures showing a huge increase in engagement across the platform as a result.

The Prediction Leagues feature enables users to create and join private leagues with groups of friends, or join public Sportlobster leagues to see how you rank against other sports fans and stars.

The new feature has been launched in response to demand from users to expand the platform’s prediction functionality and to increase user engagement and activity.

When the new feature went live last week, a Premier League prediction was made every second for the first hour, and an average of 28 predictions per user have been made so far across the platform.

The return frequency has increased by 21% over the week since the feature launched.

Sportlobster_PredictionLeague2Public leagues cover a range of sports and competitions, including the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Aviva Rugby Premiership, NBA and NHL.

Alternatively, any user can set up a private league, covering up to five different competitions, and invite their mates to join by sending them a unique access code.

Points are accrued for every correct prediction made. The more surprising the result – i.e. the fewer the people who have made that prediction – the more points are accumulated.

A number of Sportlobster’s famous ambassadors, including the likes of Michael Owen, George Groves and Giorgio Chiellini, have joined public leagues so users can see how their predictions compare to the professionals.

Once in a league, users can view the next seven days’ worth of matches and can make their selections on any fixtures due to start within the next 48 hours.

Prediction leagues are updated constantly, so users can see how their predictions compare to others in their league as results happen.

Sportlobster, which has over 2 million registered users worldwide, is designed to offer a one-stop-shop to sports fans, allowing users to read the latest sports news, make match predictions, share content, blog, follow their favourite sports stars and join sporting ‘fanzones’, all customised to each fan’s preferences.

Sportlobster can be found at www.sportlobster.com or as a free downloadable app on iPhone or Android.
