January 30, 2017

SportAccord Convention is delighted to welcome the return of DB Schenker as Official Logistics Provider for the fifteenth edition of the Convention. The event will take place in the stunning city of Aarhus, Denmark from 2 – 7 April 2017 at the Scandinavian Center.

Commenting on the long-standing Partnership, Christian Schultze, SVP Product Management Sports Events, DB Schenker said, “We have supported SportAccord Convention since its inception in 2003 and understand what exhibitors expect when it comes to providing a first-class service for events around the globe. It’s great to be back and especially for the Convention’s fifteenth anniversary year.”

Nis Hatt, Managing Director, SportAccord Convention said, “We are delighted to welcome DB Schenker on-board again as our Official Logistics Provider. As a long-term Delivery Partner, DB Schenker’s commitment and involvement over the years has been outstanding. Their expertise provides us with the confidence to know that the needs of our delegates and organisations will be met.”

DB Schenker is well-equipped to respond and deliver to global requirements with teams based in 2,000 locations. Their knowledge of the event puts them in a strong position when it comes to assisting and managing the needs of exhibitors taking part and their services come “highly recommended” by the

SportAccord Convention Exhibition Manager, Carl Langdon who commented, “Using our Official Logistics Provider has many advantages for exhibitors, not least because DB Schenker is familiar with the Convention and can provide a seamless service between the exhibitor and the #SAC2017 operational teams.”

This year’s exhibitors include our Gold Partners – Dubai Sports Council, Sport Bureau of Macau Government, and Sport Event Denmark who are also a Host Partner for #SAC2017. Examples of other organisations with booths include Nüssli (events supplier), SmartScoring (big data), Sambo (FIAS – an international sport federation), Berlin (city) and UK Sport (financial). With 70% of the exhibition space already filled, there are only a few booths remaining.

Commenting on the commitment shown for this year’s SportAccord Convention, Brandon Kelly, Sales Manager said, “With delegate passes due to rise to 2,500 CHF in just over two weeks, organisations should consider one of our ‘pop-up’ booths. They’re an affordable investment, providing 2 delegate passes and all the benefits of having additional visibility both in the Exhibition area, as well as across our marketing and communication platforms.”

Organisations can discuss their logistics requirements with Thomas Holm, Manager Sports Events, DB Schenker, at thomas.holm@dbschenker.com or phone +45 3686 9493 to make arrangements.

Held in a different city every year, the annual SportAccord Convention is a unique opportunity for key decision-makers from sport and industry to meet, network, and strategically shape global, regional and national agendas. An exclusive 6-day event with 1,500 delegates expected to attend, the Convention is host to annual general meetings of governing bodies, and once again, will welcome a delegation from the International Olympic Committee.

As part of the official programme, SportAccord Convention will also host a Plenary Conference, City Forum, LawAccord and MediaAccord. The Exhibition is represented by industries, sport organisations, NOCs, organising committees, government offices, cities, financial institutions, event services, media, and many more. Social and cultural programmes are also planned and will take advantage of Aarhus, nominated the European Capital of Culture for 2017.
