Southampton Secure Crucial Ticketing Partnership

March 26, 2012

Tickets.com, the industry leading provider of global ticketing and marketing solutions, has recently announced a long term agreement with Football League Championship title chasers Southampton Football Club.

The contract will see Southampton FC using state-of-the-art ProVenueX™ as the platform for supporting all ticketing requirements from the start of the 2012/13 season.

Southampton FC is the latest addition to the growing portfolio of Tickets.com sports clients which already includes Chelsea FC, West Bromwich Albion FC, Derby County FC, Gloucester RFC and Northampton Saints RFC.

As the latest development from Tickets.com, ProVenueX™ is the most advanced customer-centric ticketing platform available, putting customers in complete control of their ticketing operation. Designed to provide unsurpassed flexibility, open architecture, robust data management tools and transaction speed, ProVenueX™ guarantees its users maximum integration through a data-driven, secure ticketing solution.

The new agreement with Tickets.com has coincided with the club confirming the introduction of a new stadium access control system. Also set to launch at the start of the new season, the access control system will be implemented together with ProVenueX™, as Southampton FC launches its new loyalty point scheme. The introduction of the new technologies will allow fans to collect points on all club-related purchases, which can then be redeemed against priority bookings and ticket allocation.

Commenting on the agreement, Derek Palmer, Tickets.com’s Managing Director, EVP International said: “As demonstrated by the rigorous selection process that was conducted by the club, Southampton FC was not only looking for a complete ticketing solution, but also for a supplier that could support its long term commercial ambitions for continued growth and success off the pitch as well as on it.

“Via ProVenueX™, Tickets.com will provide the club with a ticketing system that is not only reliable, secure and fan-friendly, but will also meet Southampton FC’s demands for delivering maximum customer care as the club builds on its current engagement and interaction with fans and the wider commercial benefits this improved relationship creates.”

Ticketing manager for Southampton FC Jaimie Longmuir said: “We are delighted to confirm the start of the new ticket software and access control projects, and we are sure our supporters will benefit greatly from the results. The selection process to choose the ticketing partner was extensive and rigorous but having met Derek and the team at Tickets.com we knew they had both the technical solution and experience to deliver against our requirements for the ticketing solution and the integration of this software with our new access control system.

“The implementation of these projects will enhance the service and experience for our excellent supporters and this announcement is an illustration of the clubs continued commitment to doing so.”
