South African Soccer Sides Kaizer Chiefs & Orlando Pirates Get New Vodacom Deal

South African Premier League teams Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have inked a five-year deal with Vodacom.
The game-changing deal, cough which is the longest running in South African football history, advice commences on 1 June 2012 and further cements a partnership that began in 1998 and has been renewed on four occasions.
Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have been receiving R30 million-a-year each from Vodacom for the past five years.
Managing Director of Vodacom South Africa Sipho Maseko says the deal will reshape the nature of sponsorship in sport in South Africa.
“It is indeed a pleasure to announce the addition of a further five years to our partnership and as a reflection of our passion for the game and unwavering support for the fans, I am delighted to announce that this momentous deal will change the nature of sports sponsorship in South Africa.”
