Overview:

The Social Media Manager will manage all Minnesota Vikings social media initiatives through planning, implementation and measurement phases.  This person will have an advanced working knowledge of social networking platforms, will work with key personnel to establish and direct the Vikings social media strategy targeting the goals of fan engagement, ROI, driving sales and social media metrics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • – Direct all online interactive programs including Facebook, Twitter, blogs, boards, Instagram, YouTube, mobile marketing, etc.

  • – Work with appropriate Vikings staff (PR, Marketing, Football, etc.) to help guide presence and serve as organizational “voice” on social networking platforms keeping fans up to date with relevant and “platform appropriate” content; monitor such platforms for timely topics and negative buzz; demonstrate creativity in presenting Vikings brand on such platforms

  • – Evaluate and bring perspective to new social media technologies and present pros/cons of each technology in contributing to corporate brand/mission and revenue potential

  • – Work closely with the team’s sales & marketing, community relations, public relations, ticketing, stadium ops, MVC (Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders), Viktor, food/beverage & merchandise sales departments to create and execute social media marketing, promotional and sponsor-related campaigns as needed

  • – Maintain current knowledge of, conduct regular research on and monitor other sites (both sport and non-sport) for latest online innovations and technology

  • – Evaluate and recommend additional staff, create job description for additional roles, fill positions and manage these direct reports

  • – Help moderate Message Boards and Article Commenting and stay abreast of all board activity

  • – Manage all corporate blogs from voice/content to timeliness

  • – Be involved in the planning and execution of Vikings social media efforts in a highly collaborative environment where participation is expected

  • – Other duties as assigned
