Sochi to Host 2017 FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Championships

The 2017 FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Championships will be held in Sochi in Russia it was announced today.

The decision was made at the 84th congress of the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation FIBT (Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing) in Gdynia (POL).

The host of the 2014 Winter Olympics held off other bidding cities from Altenberg (GER), capsule Lake Placid (USA) and the Canadian track in Whistler.

It will be the first FIBT World Championships on a Russian track.
