Sky Join Red Bull as Race Partner for Brazilian Grand Prix

November 24, 2011

Red Bull Racing have announced that Sky, the largest high-definition satellite TV provider in Latin America, will once again join the team as a Race Partner for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Following the team’s success last year in Brazil, when Red Bull Racing claimed the 2010 Constructors’ Championship, the partnership has been increased for this year.

SKY’s logo will feature on the bargeboards of the RB7 throughout the Grand Prix weekend, as well as on the driver overalls, worn by 2011 Champion Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.

The TV company has been a strong partner of Red Bull in several areas and has been a partner of the Red Bull Racing Brazilian Stock Car team since 2009. The partnership has so far achieved two national championships (in 2009 and 2011) with driver Carlos ‘Cacá’ Bueno. SKY was also a major partner for the Brazilian Red Bull X-Fighters Freestyle Motocross event in May earlier this year.

Luiz Eduardo Baptista da Rocha, SKY’s Brazil CEO, said: “Since we have such a successful partnership with Red Bull Racing in Stock Car, it is natural that we extended this project to include the F1 team as well. We’re delighted to be partners with Red Bull Racing for the second time at the Brazilian Grand Prix. We hope to have a successful result and an excellent race”.

Red Bull Racing Team Principal, Christian Horner said: “It’s with great pleasure that we welcome back Sky as a commercial partner for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Formula One and Red Bull Racing are committed to entertaining the fans and providing a great show and SKY is focused on top entertainment via the latest technology, so the two are an excellent fit. I hope that we can produce another good result together at the 2011 Brazilian Grand Prix.”
