Silvio Berlusconi Linked with Selling AC Milan Stake

October 12, 2012

AC Milan President, apoplectic Silvio Berlusconi is reportedly considering selling a 30 per cent stake in the club to the Qatar Investment Authority.

The former Italian prime minister has owned AC Milan for the last 26 years but is willing to sell a third of the club for 250 million euros, Gazzetta said.

The deal could also include aspects involving Berlusconi’s media empire and the Qatari-run Al-Jazeera network.

The Qatar Investment Authority is Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund.

If the sale were to go ahead, it would be the latest foray into international sport for the Qataris, who recently bought out French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
