SFA Issue Hearts with Complaint over Administration
July 3, 2013
The Scottish FA has issued Hearts with a notice of complaint for entering administration back in June.
The Tynecastle club entered administration on June 19 with debts of £25m ($38m) owed to Lithuanian companies formerly owned by Vladimir Romanov.
Hearts are in breach of Disciplinary Rule 14(g): “suffering an insolvency event by entering into administration”, the SFA said.
The Edinburgh side have until July 8 to respond to the complaint, with a hearing set for July 18.
Hearts have already been hit with a 15-point penalty but could also face a censure, fine or an extended transfer embargo.
Bryan Jackson, Hearts’ administrator said a fine would be a ‘disaster’ and added: “Any monetary penalty would be a big, big concern in how we’d get over that.”
