SecurTek to Diamond Sponsor WFG Continental Cup of Curling

January 8, 2013

SecurTek Monitoring Solutions announced today that it has partnered with the WFG Continental Cup of Curling, held this week at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, British Columbia.

SecurTek’s investment as a Diamond Sponsor for the international curling competition featuring top world players, is a tribute to achievements made by smaller cities, outside of major centres.

“Penticton’s success in developing it’s capacity to host a major international event like this resonates with our company because we understand the dedication it takes to deliver on the expectations of competitors and the tens thousands of fans who will converge on Penticton this week,” notes SecurTek CEO Barry Rogers. “We know what it takes, because we also operate out of a smaller city.”

SecurTek’s head office is located in Yorkton Saskatchewan, a community that is less than half the size of Greater Penticton. Yet Securtek is physically present in seven Canadian provinces, including British Columbia.

“It is no secret that many SecurTek employees are big curling fans,” quips Director of Marketing Kristy Cmoc. “Our delegates attending the event have been walking on Cloud Nine since the confirmation of our financial support for this year’s edition of the Continental Cup. They look forward to meeting the fans and to being great ambassadors for our organization and our community… as soon as they reach ground level again, later this week in Penticton.”

The WFG Continental Cup gets under way Thursday January 10, with Women’s and Men’s finals on Sunday January 13. Game coverage will be provided in Canada by TSN and RDS networks. Next year’s edition of the Cup will be held in Las Vegas. The first ever Continental Cup of Curling was held in Regina, Saskatchewan, in 2002.
