Sebastian Coe Talks Up Madrid 2020 Olympic Chances

Sebastian Coe, the chairman of London 2012, has expressed his belief that Spain can host a successful Olympics Games in 2020.

Whilst at a forum orgainsed by Europa Press in Madrid, Coe said: “Sport is part of the fabric of the country. Spain is, undoubtedly, capable of organising events at the highest level.”

Madrid’s Mayor, Ana Botella, and Alejandro Blanco, President of both the Madrid 2020 bid and the Spanish Olympic Committee, werre present at the event.

Lord Coe also spoke about the opportunities for business that arise from the Games and the positive “impact on local communities”.

He added: “I wish you the best possible luck in the coming months. Madrid is passionate about Olympic sport and securing the Games.”
