Save the Date – 14 July, Sports Performance Masterclass with Southampton’s Les Reed and ECB’s Dr Raphael Brandon

iSportconnect, the world’s largest global private network of sports business executives, is delighted to announce Les Reed, Executive Director at Southampton Football Club and Dr Raphael Brandon, Head of Science and Medicine at the England & Wales Cricket Board as the latest confirmed panellists for the first ever Sports Performance Masterclass.

The iSportconnect Sports Performance Masterclass is the latest in a line of successful and insightful events this year and takes place on July 14 in London.

Southampton has become one of the leading examples in football of how to align a club successfully from the board to the players with a modern “whole club approach”.

Les has coached England at every level in World and European Championships and is also a former Technical Director to The Football Association. At club level he coached Charlton Athletic F.C. gaining promotion to the Premier League in 1998 and Fulham F.C where he was also Technical Director.

Alongside his coaching experience, Les also has the experience of managing multi-million pound budgets and being a Director on the Board in a top football club.

Meanwhile, Raphael Brandon is currently Head of Science and Medicine at the England & Wales Cricket Board, having previously been the Director Performance Solutions at the English Institute of Sport.  During his time with the EIS, as Head of Strength & Conditioning, he has worked with British Athletics team where he helped medal winners at World Championships and the Olympic Games, including Christine Ohuruogu.

In his 17-year career, Raphael has worked in many different athletes, from professional golf and football, to Olympic medal winning Snowboarder Jenny Jones. More recently, Raphael has led teams of practitioners and departments and has developed strategic skills and methods to ensure science, medicine and performance support makes maximum impact.
