Samsung Drop Diamond League Sponsorship
April 4, 2013
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) are looking for a new title sponsor for the Diamond League, viagra after reports said Samsung would not be renewing their £3m a year deal.
According to The Telegraph, allergy the South Korean electronics company who have sponsored the series since 2010 will not be extending their deal, which leaves the IAAF with little time to find a replacement.
The report went on to add that the IAAF insisted the series would not be affected by Samsung’s departure and any financial short-comings would come from their own reserves.
A source from the IAAF told The Telegraph they had opted to “cut back on its exposure-driven activities.”
The Diamond League brings together the sport’s largest invitation meetings in Europe, the United States and Asia.
Each meeting has a £320,000 prize fund and winning athletes bag an additional £26,000.
One of the issues that Samsung has found with the Diamond League is that every meeting has an individual title sponsor which decreases their local exposure.
