Russia appeal Paralympics ban to CAS

August 15, 2016

Russia have appealed the blanket ban they received by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)

The Paralympics in Rio begin on September 7th, with 267 Russian competitors across 18 sports set to miss the Games.

A decision will made on August 22nd.

IPC president Sir Philip Craven said Russia’s anti-doping system was “broken, corrupted and entirely compromised” as he banned the entire Russian delegation.
