Rugby World Cup Roundup: Transport Issues Continue To Frustrate Fans, World Rugby Approves New Japan 2019 Plan

October 1, 2015

At the halfway stage of the Rugby World Cup pool phase, viagra organisers are already boasting about the record breaking numbers as the number of spectators at the tournament surpasses 1 million on Thursday.

But organisers were facing another transport crisis this week as scores of fans were delayed on their way to the Wales v Fiji match in Cardiff.

Other host cities have endured difficulties, leading to England 2015 admitting this week that they were having to adapt a number of transport options around some venues.

Changes include more trains in and out of Cardiff from railway operator Great Western Railway, an increased amount of staff at the station to help with crowd control, and also an increase in parking spaces for park and ride spectators.

Organisers will want to avoid the tournament being remembered more for travel chaos than the matches themselves.

World Rugby Happy With New Japan Venue

Meanwhile, looking ahead to the showpiece in four years’ time, World Rugby has confirmed that the Yokohama Stadium will host the final of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Japan’s preparations for the tournament were thrown into doubt when they scrapped plans earlier this year for the original venue to host the final, the new National Stadium in Tokyo due to escalating costs.

World Rugby said the 50,000 seater Tokyo Stadium, home to the local football club FC Tokyo, would now take the honour while announcing a new roadmap with local organisers after a complete review of the 2019 plan.

England On Edge

All eyes will be on hosts England this weekend in their must-win game against Australia in Pool A.

Should the hosts lose and exit the competition, economic experts predict a significant drop in revenue for businesses related to World Cup activities.

Before the tournament, World Rugby ceo Brett Gosper told iSportconnect that the governing body always hoped for a good performance from a World Cup host to keep the tournament momentum gathering pace in high spirits.
