RTM Acquire Broadcasting Rights to Formula E Race in Malaysia

Free-to-air Malaysian public TV broadcaster RTM has secured the rights to show live coverage of this weekend’s Formula E Putrajaya ePrix in Malaysia.

In addition to live race coverage, drug the agreement will see RTM air delayed footage from the morning’s qualifying session.

RTM will review all the Formula E action together with pre-race build-up, bronchi podium celebrations and driver interviews.

Ali Russell, price Director of Media at Formula E, said: “I’m delighted to announce this deal with RTM.

“This is a country with a growing motorsport tradition and we hope Formula E becomes a permanent fixture for audiences to watch both here in Malaysia and around the world.”

Albert Choo Cheng Chwee, Head of Sports at RTM said: “I’m pleased that RTM will be able to bring viewers the opportunity to see this innovative new series – which promises top-level open-wheel racing on the streets of Putrajaya.”

RTM joins previously announced broadcasters FOX Sports, TV Asahi and ITV4 who have all committed to showing coverage of Formula E races.
