March 14, 2017

The Los Angeles bid to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games has been backed by the State’s student population.

Polling across the city has demonstrated that 88 per cent of LA millennials support the bid, with several student Governments representing over 50,000 young inhabitants offering their support to LA 2024.

The student governments of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Southern California (USC) passed resolutions supporting LA’s bid to host the 2024 Games.

Both UCLA and USC are among the most prestigious universities in the U.S. with approximately 43,000 undergraduate and graduate students and both campuses are home to thousands of international students from more than 100 countries.

Casey Wasserman, LA 2024 Chairman said “at a time when the Olympic Movement is working hard to engage with young adults around the world, LA 2024 helps pave the way.”
