Puma Names Jay-Z As President Of Basketball Operations

Puma has named Jay-Z as President of Basketball Operations as the German sportswear manufacturer looks to return to the NBA sneaker game.

In his new position, the rapper and business mogul will provide input on athletes being signed to PUMA Basketball, in addition to art design, concepts and brand direction.

Adam Petrick, Puma’s Global Director of Brand and Marketing, said they’ve been in talks with Jay-Z’s sports agency for quite a while: “We’ve been working with Roc Nation for quite some time. They’ve been great partners to us for several years. We’ve done many different deals with many different ambassadors. When Puma approached him about this opportunity, Jay-Z felt it “was something he wanted to be a part of.”
