Procter and Gamble Extend Partnership with UAE National Olympic Committee

Procter and Gamble (P&G) has extended its partnership with the UAE National Olympic Committee (NOC) for the second year of the UAE School Olympics programme.

The original partnership was formed in 2012 and the extension will continue to increase the reach of sporting programmes in UAE schools.

The School Olympics was launched in September 2012 by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and has seen in excess of 85,000 students participate.

Al Rajwani, Vice President & General Manager for P&G in the Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan said: “As a company that firmly believes in the difference sports can make to our lives, we’re delighted to be a partner in an initiative that is making a real impact in the lives of tens of thousands of UAE children and their mothers.

“The initial year of the School Olympics was the result of two years planning, and the results of the first year’s programme have been remarkable,” said Mohammed Al Kamali, Secretary General,UAE NOC.

“We’ve been successful in engaging with children through schools across the country and identified some wonderfully gifted young Emiratis who we will now support further with technical coaching and competitive pathways.

“We’re thankful for the support from P&G, an Olympic sponsor, and we’re looking forward to extending the programme over the coming academic year to cover even more schools in the UAE.”
