January 24, 2013

The Premier League has announced two new broadcast rights deals for the 2013/14-2015/16 seasons.

BSkyB, vcialis 40mg who have already secured the rights for 116 live games, have been awarded the Long-Form Linear broadcast rights for 226 Barclays Premier League fixtures per season. This enables them to provide delayed long-form highlights of those 226 games.

Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Scudamore said: “These rights make available delayed long-form coverage of all Barclays Premier League matches not broadcast live and are an important part of our overall rights offering. Sky Sports has for several seasons used them to great effect with the successful Football First programme that will continue to make available the best Barclays Premier League action to fans across the country.”

News International have won the rights to show Near-Live clips in the UK of all 380 Barclays Premier League games. They will be able to make these clips available on the internet and mobile devices. The package enables News International to broadcast clips during all matches except those than kick-off at 3pm on Monday, as well as extended highlights of all games on Monday mornings after a weekend round of fixtures.

Scudamore added: “We are extremely pleased with this exciting development that sees News International, traditionally a newspaper publishing organisation, move further into the digital media space through the acquisition of our UK Near-Live clip rights.

“In a world in which all forms of media are looking at their digital offerings, and given the extensive coverage that News International publications give to the Barclays Premier League, we believe this partnership will see football fans able to consume the best Premier League action in innovative ways.”
