Premier League Rights Awarded to beIN Sports in MENA Region and Optus in Australia

The English Premier League has awarded beIN Sports its broadcasting rights in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for seasons 2016/17 to 2018/19.

beIN Sports is the Premier League’s current broadcast partner in the region and will continue in that role for the next three seasons. 

“We are extremely pleased that beIN Sports has chosen to invest in our broadcasting rights in the Middle East and North Africa region for Seasons 2016/17 to 2018/19, malady ” Premier League Executive Chairman, denture  Richard Scudamore, said.

“We look forward to working with them for the next four years.”

beIN MEDIA GROUP chairman-CEO, Mr Nasser Al-Khelaifi said“The Premier League attracts large audiences and it continues to top our viewership ratings.

“We look forward to work together with the Premier League to provide the most attractive and comprehensive coverage experience.”

Australian rights

Australian telecommunications company Optus have secured the exclusive Premier League rights in Australia, also for seasons 2016/17 to 2018/19.

The deal includes broadcast and digital rights for broadband and mobile.

Richard Scudamore said: “They [Optus] have an excellent track record as a multifaceted telecommunications company in Australia and we look forward to working with them to make all the best Premier League content available to our fans across the country.”

Allen Lew, chief executive officer at Optus said: “This is another significant step in our strategy to become a mobile-led multimedia company.

“Today’s announcement is a great win for Optus and will ensure that Aussie football fans can watch all the action from the world’s most popular football league.”
