July 25, 2013

Portsmouth Football Club have announced two new sponsorship deals which sees a new sponsor of the historic South Stand and a new partner for the safety stewards’ uniforms.

The League Two club have confirmed that L&S Waste Management will sponsor the South Stand at Fratton Park over the course of the 2013-14 season.

The company’s logo will feature on the seats of the stand, which has been in existence since 1925.

Pompey CEO Mark Catlin said: “The South Stand is a much-loved part of Fratton Park’s fabric and to have a sponsor of this stand for the first time is something to celebrate.

“We have been working hard on improving Fratton Park over the summer and this deal will help us towards the goal of having the stadium spick and span for the start of the season.”

L&S Waste managing director and long-time Pompey fan Mick Balch added: “Since I was around 10 I have followed the journey Portsmouth Football Club have taken.

“When I was offered the opportunity to become a Pompey partner I didn’t have to think twice about getting involved, especially as sponsor of the traditional old South Stand.  It feels great to be part of our local club at such an important time in its history.”

Safety first in steward sponsorship deal

Meanwhile the south coast club have announced that Maxol Facilities have signed a three-year partnership deal to see their branding on Pompey stewards’ uniforms and have also undertaken safety work at Fratton Park.

On this deal Catlin said: “This is a great deal for the club and the fact Maxol FM want to commit to a three-year sponsorship is a huge boost and is another sign the club is on the right lines as we rebuild our relations with business.”

The deal sees Maxol FM become the Safety Steward Sponsors of the League Two club and their Managing Director Paul Lomax said: “It is extremely pleasing to have signed this three-year contract and the concept of a community club gave us an extra willingness to invest and show our support.

“The new safety wear will give a good professional impression to the home and visiting fans alike, as will the stadium improvements which are currently under way.”
