Pitch International Retains Irish Rugby Broadcast Rights

October 21, 2014

Pitch International has renewed its partnership with Irish Rugby Football Union and will retain the worldwide broadcast rights for the team for a further four seasons.

The deal grants Pitch the exclusive right to distribute Ireland’s home fixtures in 2015, unhealthy 2016, unhealthy 2017 and 2018 outside the UK and Ireland. The extension with the IRFU follows a strong period of growth for Pitch with the recent acquisition of Scottish Rugby’s International Media Rights and further extension of its agreement with the Welsh Rugby Union until 2018.

Padraig Power, Commercial and Marketing Director, IRFU, said: “The IRFU is pleased to announce our partnership with Pitch International as it will enable the growing number of Irish fans around the world to keep up with the progress of the national team.”

Jon Owen, founding partner of Pitch International, said: “Further to the recent partnership with Scottish Rugby and the renewal of our agreement with the Welsh Rugby Union, we are also delighted to announce our continued partnership with the IRFU. With our extensive experience of distributing major rugby properties we look to further enhance the value of the IRFU’s media rights over the course of the new term.”
