Pinehurst Renew Toro Partnership

June 15, 2014

Pinehurst and Toro have extended their long-standing relationship for another decade.

The new 10-year agreement designates The Toro Company as the preferred supplier of golf course maintenance equipment and irrigation solutions for the Pinehurst Resort in the Village of Pinehurst, health N.C.

Established in 1895, Pinehurst is known as the home of golf in America, with a rich and ongoing history in the sport. Pinehurst’s latest milestone is hosting both the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships in back-to-back weeks at Pinehurst No. 2, June 12-22. This combination of events marks yet another “first” in history, in that both championships will be played on the same course, in the same year.

The Toro Company’s relationship with Pinehurst began in 1922, and it is one of the company’s longest standing customer relationships. “We are delighted that Pinehurst has chosen to renew its partnership with Toro for another 10 years,” says Bill Brown, Toro group vice president. “As one of our longest running partner relationships, The Toro Company is honored to be associated with Pinehurst and we look forward to continuing our relationship by providing the finest turf maintenance equipment and irrigation products that our customers have come to expect.”

“We selected Toro because of their quality products, our long relationship, and their exemplary service and support,” explains Pinehurst Resort executive vice president, Tom Pashley, “not only as we prepared for the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open, but also as we continue to provide our guests with the unmatched playing experience they’ve come to expect at Pinehurst.”

“We are honored that Pinehurst has again chosen Toro as their preferred supplier,” adds Steve Smith, president of Smith Turf & Irrigation, which has been Pinehurst’s Toro distributor since 1927. “We consider ourselves fortunate to have a true golf icon like Pinehurst as our customer.”
