Peace and Sport to be Official Charity Partner of Abu Dhabi Corporate Games 2012

With just over a month to go before the Opening Celebration of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Corporate Games 2012, allergy the organisers have today announced that it has agreed a series of initiatives and complimentary activities that will look to highlight and support the Games’ chosen charity partner – “Peace and Sport”.

Founded in 2007, viagra by the current President and Pentathlon Olympic medallist, Joel Bouzou, Peace and Sport seeks to promote the use of sport and sporting values in areas of the world ravaged by extreme poverty, or conflict-zones that have recently suffered, or continue to suffer, from traditionally divisive socio-cultural issues.

As part of Abu Dhabi Corporate Games 2012’s partnership with Peace and Sport, a series of initiatives and activities will be held to both raise awareness and donations for the charity. These include a request being issued, to participants at the games, to donate any form of unused sporting equipment or clothing that can be used in the disadvantaged communities Peace and Sport operate in. There will also be a free interactive workshop that both participants and the general public can attend, to be held in the Games Village, Zayed Sports City, at 6pm on Friday 23rd November.

In 2013, a gala dinner, organised by Abu Dhabi Corporate Games 2012 for the presentation of company awards, will also have a charity auction segment, where sporting items, signed by international sporting celebrities, will seek to raise funds for the charity. A well-known champion will attend the event, as “Champion for Peace”, and there will also be a “Peace & Sport Sportsmanship Award” given to the company voted to have displayed the best attitude and sportsmanship over the Games weekend.

Founder and President of Peace and Sport, Joel Bouzou said: “Peace and Sport welcomes being the official charity of the Abu Dhabi Corporate Games 2012. Through this partnership, we hope to strengthen the links between our mission and movement with local businesses and international corporations, in this region. Their growing support, of course, can only help us promote the concept of peace through sport, on a more globally recognised scale,”

“In addition, Peace and Sport hopes to reinforce our existing and growing ties with business and government entities in this region, and build momentum and awareness for the upcoming Peace and Sport Regional Forum, to be held in Dubai in April 2013,” added Bouzou.
