Osram Sylvania Remains Title Sponsor of Nascar Race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
January 23, 2013
North American lighting leader Osram Sylvania announced today they have renewed their title sponsorship agreement through 2017 for the Sylvania 300 with New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS), New England’s largest sports and entertainment facility.
Rick Leaman, president and CEO of Osram Sylvania Inc. and Region Head for the Americas, and Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway, made the announcement today.
Osram Sylvania has sponsored the fall NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at NHMS for the last decade. The September race, which is one of the final ten races in the “Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup,” has historically been one of the highest rated NASCAR events on national television and draws crowds of over 100,000 at the speedway.
“The relationship with NHMS for the past ten years and 3,000 miles of the SYLVANIA 300 has been valuable to our company and brand,” said Leaman. “Just like the nature of NASCAR racing, Osram Sylvania has strived to build a high-performance culture that is reflected in its people, products and services, and we are looking forward to the next five years of exciting NASCAR racing and engaging the brand loyal fans.”
“This day and age, long-term business relationships are becoming more of a rarity,” said Gappens. “Working together for the past decade, we have built a tremendous partnership together and continue to work hand-in-hand in making the Sylvania 300 one of the marquee events in the ‘Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup’ 10-race playoff.”
The extension will take the sponsorship to 15 consecutive years. Charlotte Motor Speedway (23 years with Coca-Cola), Bristol Motor Speedway (21 years with Food City), Homestead-Miami Speedway (11 years with Ford) and Talledega Superspeedway (11 years with Aaron’s) are the only tracks to have had entitlement sponsors for a longer stretch than the New Hampshire Motor Speedway partnership with Osram Sylvania.
The 11 annual SYLVANIA 300 will be the 27th race of 36 on the Sprint Cup Series schedule and takes place on Sunday, September 22 with the green flag dropping at 2:00 p.m.
