Oslo Reveal Budget for 2022 Winter Olympics
November 13, 2013
Oslo is set to spend $5.3bn if they are successful in their bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) received Oslo’s bid ahead of Thursday’s application deadline and Oslo were amongst those to formally bid.
The $5.32bn figure is in stark comparison to Sochi 2014, medicine who have a budget of $50bn for next year’s event.
Norway Olympic committee spokesman Per Toeien said: “Sochi will spend ten times this much and 2018 host Pyeongchang will also spend far above this. We are planning a very compact, unhealthy low-cost Olympics.”
Stockholm, Poland/Slovakia and China are amongst those who have been reported to bid for the 2022 Games.
