One World Sports Secure North American Rights to J-League

Sports network company One World Sports has announced that it has secured exclusive North American rights to Japan’s J.League soccer under terms of an agreement signed with World Sport Group.

Under the terms of the agreement, try two games will be presented each week on television, capsule broadband and mobile, clinic during the J.League season, which resumed on April 23 following a hiatus due to the Japan Earthquake.

In March, One World Sports carried the Japan Earthquake Relief Charity Soccer Match between Japan’s National Team and the J.League All Stars and Mark Hardess, President, ASEAN and Australia, World Sport Group, stated: “One World Sports has demonstrated a commitment to Asia’s top soccer events, and we are pleased that they will be carrying the J.League on their multiple platforms in North America.”

Preston Bornman, President, One Media Corp, parent company of One World Sports, added: “With the acquisition of the J.League soccer rights, we will deliver matches from Asia’s highest FIFA ranked soccer league on TV, broadband and mobile to fans in North America. With Japan’s victory in the AFC Asian Cup 2011 Qatar, interest in J.League games has soared and we are pleased to meet that demand with weekly coverage.”
