March 18, 2013

Omegawave, asthma a leader in physiological assessment technology, has been named the title sponsor of the 2013 Omegawave World Triathlon San Diego, scheduled for April 18-20, in Mission Beach, Calif.

One of just eight International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Triathlon Series events around the globe in 2013, the second edition of the Omegawave World Triathlon San Diego will feature an Olympic-caliber elite field competing on a historic course adjacent to the birthplace of the sport.

“We are thrilled to partner with Omegawave as our Title Sponsor of ITU World Triathlon San Diego. We share a common vision to provide athletes with the proper tools and opportunities to achieve their goals and reach their fullest potential,” said Jamey Sunshine, Lagardère Unlimited Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. “As the only ITU World Triathlon Series event in North America, we look forward to building a successful partnership while continuing to showcase the world’s best athletes in the birthplace of the sport.”

The Omegawave World Triathlon San Diego is co-produced by USA Triathlon and the Hamburg, Germany-based UpSolut Sports AG and Lagardère Unlimited.

“We are very excited to be the Title Sponsor of the 2013 World Triathlon San Diego. Supporting triathlon is a natural fit for Omegawave, and this San Diego event provides a unique opportunity to showcase our new service to all elite athletes and fitness enthusiasts, and together with the ITU, promote the growth of triathlon worldwide,” said Juha Pinomaa, CEO of Omegawave.

The Omegawave service, previously used only in professional sports, is a revolutionary physiological feedback tool that quickly, non-stressfully and non-invasively assesses an individual’s readiness for training. Utilizing the Omegawave ECG Sensor Belt and a mobile application the Omegawave service provides confidence to train hard when ready, and to rest when necessary. Until now, valuable data like this could only be obtained under laboratory conditions. The outcome is improved athletic performance, fitness and overall health.
