Olympic Beach Volleyball Star Kerri Walsh Jennings Becomes ASICS Ambassador

April 16, 2014

ASICS America has announced three-time Olympic beach volleyball player, allergy Kerri Walsh Jennings, has joined its growing team of elite athletes.

Her inspiring spirit and determination for the sport make her a significant addition to the ASICS athlete family. A fearless competitor on the court, Kerri was most recently recognized for her gold medal win at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games alongside partner Misty May-Treanor and her outstanding performance with new partner, April Ross at the FIVB Xiamen Grand Slam competition in October.

“ASICS believes in performing to your greatest ability while striving for continuous improvement, one of many reasons I am ecstatic to join the team,” Walsh Jennings commented. “As an athlete, the adrenaline rush from fierce competition is what pushes me to better my best every day. I look forward to making my relationship with the brand official, and testing my limits with the new line of ASICS women’s performance swimsuits this season.”

A native California resident, Kerri Walsh Jennings knows her way around the sand. She started playing volleyball very early on, following in the footsteps of her mother and father who were both superstar athletes. Kerri’s career took off in college when she became the second player in NCAA history to be named First-Team All-American for all four seasons. Shortly after, Kerri joined the 2000 Olympic Team. In 2001, she moved her game to the beach and paired up with Misty May-Treanor. Kerri and teammate Misty went on to become gold medalists in beach volleyball at the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Summer Olympics.

“Kerri’s passion for the sport is contagious and it captures the public’s imagination, which makes her an incredibly exciting addition to our roster of elite ASICS athletes,” commented ASICS America Athlete Manager, Kelly O’Rourke. “Her athletic accomplishments and heart-felt personality make her a role-model among the volleyball community and beyond. We are eager to kick-off the relationship and take part in her journey, as well as celebrate her future achievements.”
