NRL’s Cronulla Sharks Finally Sign Major Sponsor in Surprising Circumstances

July 4, 2014

National Rugby League (NRL) club Cronulla Sharks have finally confirmed a major sponsor, in the shape of Labour Health.

Labour Health, who conducts drug and alcohol testing in workplaces, will be on the Sharks’ front of jersey for the remaining 10 weeks of the season and possibly into 2014-15.

The sponsorship clashes with the firm’s normal protocol of aligning with clean and stable brands, as the Sharks have incurred off-field criticism.

Todd Carney was recently sacked after an image of the star behaving badly in a nightclub went viral on social media, and there is still a cloud hanging over the club regarding ASADA’s doping investigation.

However, when asked if he thought people would be shocked by the partnership, Labour Health Managing Director Regan Browntold News Limited: “I couldn’t agree with you more.

“And that’s why we’re coming in to help. We know what we’re doing.”
