Nike Secure New Posh Deal Ahead of Play-Off Final

May 24, 2011

English League One soccer club Peterborough United, hoping to gain promotion via the play-offs this season, have agreed a new two-year kit sponsorship deal with Nike.

Their new away kit will be unveiled during the side’s crucial League One Play-Off Final against Huddersfield Town at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium on Sunday, May 29.

Nike replace Adidas as the team’s kit manufacturer and will also supply Peterborough with a new home kit and a club leisurewear range throughout the 2011/12 and 2012/13 soccer seasons.

Peterborough United commercial manager Alex Harris said: “We are delighted to enter into a two-year partnership with Nike. We look forward to developing this partnership over the next few seasons.”

The club’s chief executive Bob Symns added: “We hope our supporters bear with us on this change. It was never our intention to seek a new supplier at this particular time but critical terms and conditions dramatically altered during our seasonal negotiations and we therefore declined a contract renewal with Adidas.”
