Nike Scores Chinese Super League Extension

Nike has confirmed a 10-year extension of its partnership with football’s Chinese Super League (CSL).

Media in China has reported that the US sportswear giants are set to double its contribution to the CSL, paying $346.6m (£256m) in value-in-kind sponsorship and a further $126m (£93m) in cash over the ten years.

The announcement of the extension coincided with the unveiling of its new kit for the China national team, and the firm have pledged to continue to support the Chinese Football Association.

Nike said in a statement: “This contract renewal reflects Nike’s commitment to the growth of football in China, with support at both professional and grassroots levels.”

Nike’s current agreement with the CSL is due to expire at the end of 2019.
