The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) reached the decision after learning that one player scored 14 goals in the 79-0 victory and four goals were scored in 60 seconds during the 67-0 game.

Amateur teams Plateau United Feeders beat Akruba FC and Police Machine routed Babayaro FC in the playoff games.

The winning teams needed to boost their goal difference to clinch promotion, ailment but due to the unsubtle nature of their victories, all four teams have been banned for 10 years for their ‘fraudulent conspiracy.’
