New York Giants and Quest Diagnostics Form Partnership to Improve Athlete Health and Performance
July 26, 2013
The New York Giants have formed a partnership with Quest Diagnostics to improve the health and performance of athletes.
Using laboratory diagnostics information services, the partnership aims to help athletes of all ages and abilities.
The National Football League (NFL) franchise will have their training facility at the MetLife Sports Complex renamed as the Quest Diagnostics Training Center, as a result of the new deal.
Giants president John Mara commented: “We have made tremendous advancement in this area in recent years. We see our relationship with Quest as the next step in the process of achieving a healthier and safer game during our players’ careers and after their playing days.”
Quest Diagnostics will work directly with a select group of players each season and will also provide lab services to the Giants.
Their scientists and physicians, led by John Cohen M.D., will collaborate with Giants senior vice president of medical services Ronnie Barnes, throughout the partnership.
The two organisations will also host educational events to promote healthy living. Giants chairman Steve Tisch said: “In many ways, this partnership with Quest is a natural. It is a proud, New Jersey-based company with a strong national presence, and this partnership puts the focus on athletics where it belongs: advancing a healthy lifestyle not just for our players but for everybody.”
