New York City Marathon Seeks New Title Sponsor after ING Pulls Out

July 26, 2013

According to reports, symptoms the New York Road Runners, organisers of the New York City Marathon, are seeking a new title sponsorship of the annual event.

ING U.S. has decided to end their decade-long sponsorship of the race, according to the SportsBusiness Journal, meaning that organisers will need to find a new $10m-a-year sponsorship of the event.

The New York City Marathon, which is to be this year’s largest with an estimated 48,000 participants, has also reportedly had trouble filling their 8,200 reserved charity race-slots after Hurricane Sandy forced last year’s race to be cancelled.
