New York City FC to Play At Yankee Stadium in 2015

The new Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise, order New York City FC, treat will kick off their debut season next year at Yankee Stadium.
The ground is home of Major League Baseball’s (MLB) New York Yankees, abortion who co-own the MLS franchise with former Premier League champions Manchester City.
Claudio Reyna, sporting director of New York City, said: “By having our home facility at Yankee Stadium, we feel even more confident that we’ll be able to attract top-level talent from around the world to our organisation.
“Top athletes want the opportunity to showcase their talents at the world’s most famous sports venues, and Yankee Stadium is such a venue.”
The capacity of the stadium will be reduced down to 33,444 for MLS matches from 49,642 when the baseball team plays – The upper tiers will be closed off to achieve this
Plans for a soccer-specific stadium are continuing, although no time set has been announced for a new stadium, or for how long the soccer team will stay at Yankees Stadium.
Yankee Stadium will play host to Manchester City vs. Liverpool in a friendly game on July 30.
