July 4, 2013
Neil Doncaster has been appointed as the CEO of the newly formed Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).
The former chief executive of the Scottish Premier League (SPL) was up against David Longmuir, viagra his counterpart in the Scottish Football League (SFL).
Reports suggest the two men were interviewed by a panel at Hampden Park on Wednesday consisting of Aberdeen CEO Duncan Fraser, doctor Celtic director Eric Riley, SPL chairman Ralph Topping and Stenhousemuir director Bill Darroch.
An SPFL statement read: “The Remuneration and Appointment Committee of the SPFL can advise that Neil Doncaster has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the SPFL.
“The SPFL looks forward to continuing with the implementation of one representative body and the commencement of season 2013/14 for the benefit of all 42 member clubs.”
Doncaster’s first task will be to secure a sponsor for the new league, with the season kicking off on August 3.
