April 30, 2013
The National Basketball Association’s (NBA) global expansion has taken them to Singapore for the first time for their NBA 3X event.
The event, which combines a free NBA fan festival with a 3-on-3 tournament, will take place at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza from June 21 – 23.
Sanctioned by Basketball Association of Singapore, NBA 3X Singapore 2013 will provide an entertaining experience for fans of all ages to celebrate basketball and NBA culture. Free fan activities include a slam dunk contest, basketball clinics, 3-point shootouts, skills challenges, autograph sessions, and more.
To keep fans entertained, there will be performances by an NBA dance team, an NBA mascot, live bands and DJs, as well as NBA merchandise giveaways.
An NBA Talent will also be on hand to run clinics and interact with fans.
The competitive 3-on-3 tournament features competition groups each for boys under-18, under-16, and under-13 and for girls under-18 and under-16. There will also be an open category for both men and women.
Registration for NBA 3X Singapore 2013 begins May 3.
“Bringing the first NBA 3X event to Singapore is an exciting next step to growing basketball in the country,” Scott Levy, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, NBA Asia said.
“With the support of our partners and the Singapore Sports Council, we expect this to become an annual event that will give the local community an opportunity to improve their skills and have fun with the whole family.”
NBA 3X Singapore is being staged in collaboration with HiVelocity and Black Dot. Sprite and adidas will serve as official partners.
