NBA Extends Brazilian Reach With Long-Term Globosat Deal

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has signed a long-term contract with Brazilian broadcaster Globosat to distribute games and content to the Brazilian market.

The agreement comes into effect this season and will see three NBA regular season matches shown each week as well as Playoff games and the Conference Finals, all via the SporTV channels.

The first match to be broadcast will be on 24th February between the Toronto Raptors and the Dallas Mavericks.

“The NBA is the world’s largest basketball league and will complement the large portfolio of events that the SporTV channel displays on the TV and other screens,” said Pedro Garcia, Director of Sports Globosat.

“The Brazilian fans are among the most passionate in the NBA world. We will bring even more live games and content through this partnership with Globosat,” said Arnon de Mello, Executive Director of the NBA in Brazil.

Additionally SporTV will transmit games through their digital platform. The new partnership also extends the rights to the NBA TV channel in Brazil.
