NBA Announce Television Partnership in Georgia with Saran Media

March 10, 2014

The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Saran Media have today announced a multiyear television partnership that will provide fans in Georgia with coverage of the NBA in the Georgian language.

The deal includes at least six regular season games per week, unhealthy NBA All-Star, try up to 40 NBA Playoff games, and the NBA Finals.

Selim Usta, Saran Media’s General Manager said: “We’re excited to have expanded our cooperation with the NBA for Georgia.

“To date, our partnership included our digital sports portal, Ajansspor.com, serving as the local destination of NBA.com in Turkey since 2012.

“I am confident that we will ensure the best possible television coverage of the NBA in Georgia, and help continue to build its already strong fan base there.”

The partnership will also give fans the chance to catch NBA preseason and regular-season games that are played in Europe during the partnership, as well as NBA Action, the weekly news and highlights programme.

Dan Markham, Senior Vice President of Media Distribution & Emerging Markets commented: “With an extensive portfolio of premium sports rights, Saran Media is an ideal partner for the NBA in Georgia.

“Providing a weekly selection of live NBA games, highlights and magazine shows, this partnership will enable fans to enjoy fully localized NBA programming for the first time.”

The pair have previously worked together through the NBA and Saran Online, when a digital partnership was announced in 2012.
