Naming Rights Contract Renewal for O2 Arena
February 23, 2017
Telecommunications company O2 has agreed an extension with venue owner and operator AEG for naming rights to a London venue. The former Millennium Dome in Greenwich will continue to be called The O2 for another 10 years.
The deal is reportedly worth £125m over the next decade, and will see O2 continue to provide high-density Wi-Fi and rich customer experience to visitors.
The multi-purpose venue hosts the annual ATP World Tour Finals tennis event and is a regular destination for NBA basketball fixtures, top boxing events and Ultimate Fighting Championship promotions. The O2 also hosted gymnastics events during London’s staging of the summer Olympic Games in 2012.
O2 first agreed to take naming rights to the venue, which was formerly known as the Millennium Dome, back in 2005.
