Munich Launch Euro 2020 Bid

Bavaria, ampoule the capital Munich and Bundesliga club Bayern Munich have launched a joint bid to host a game at the Euro 2020 tournament.

Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena has been put forward to host one of the games, anesthetist with the 2020 format of the tournament being the first Euros to be played across the continent.

The Allianz Arena was used in the Champions League final in 2012 and Bayern’s CEO is confident in their bid.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “We have shown by hosting the 2012 Champions League final

that we are in a position to be good hosts. The stadium is known around Europe.”

Rummenigge also added that hosting the final would be the best scenario for the city. He added: “That would be the absolute highlight. I am confident Munich will get the nod.”

Bayern premier, Horst Seehofer added: “Bayern Munich have shown in numerous cases that they are tolerant hosts. That is our biggest asset.”

Romania had previously confirmed to iSportconnect that they had also begun the official process of bidding for a match, back in January 2013.
