Proj3kt 3on3, price cheap the BBL Foundation’s pilot programme launched last October in partnership with Sport England, has today announced that Loughborough based Independent clothing and extreme sports hardware retailer MongoFoot is to become its Fashion Clothing Partner.
The Partnership will see Proj3kt 3on3 finalists wear MongoFoot clothing at the Emirates Arena Glasgow on Saturday March 9th which plays host to the BBL Trophy Final.
The programme designed to test ways of engaging boys and girls in the key 16-19 year old age bracket, has now seen over 4500 attendees since its launch. It uses a programme of 3on3 basketball participation activities across a number of locations throughout England delivered by BBL clubs. And with world governing body FIBA hoping the 3on3 version of the game will become an Olympic sport in its own right at Rio 2016 it is seen as an ideal way to introduce young people to the sport in England.
Commenting on the partnership, Dom Russo and Sean Powell, Partners of Mongofoot said “As a young company we are proud to be involved in the development of youth basketball in the UK, our ethos is to inspire and motivate with music, design, art and sports such as 3on3 basketball and extreme sports “
BBL Foundation COO Gary Atyes commented on the partnership by stating “ We are delighted that Mongo Foot, who are a growing UK Fashion retailer, whose products and business philosophy match the young, urban, positive image of the 3on3 version of the sport the BBL clubs are promoting, are coming on board as a partner as we believe they are a great fit.”
