Mondelez International Strike Football Deals

October 10, 2013

Mondelez Internaional, manufacturer of snacks including Oreo and Ritz, has agreed a series of deals with U.S. Soccer, U.S. national team players and the Mexican football club Chivas de Guadalajara.

The New Jersey-based company has signed a three-year deal to become the official snacks of U.S. Soccer and another three-year agreement with Guadalajara to be the official snack of games played and sponsorship within the United States.

Individual deals have also been agreed with Clint Dempsey, Alex Morgan and Omar Gonzalez. The three deals are the largest multi-brand program that Mondelez has conducted.

Stephen Chriss, the senior director for North America consumer engagement and marketing services at Mondelez International, said: “This is so much more than a business deal — it’s the start of a movement to help our great brands connect soccer, community and snacking in a way that makes consumers stand up and cheer.

“We’re so excited to have the opportunity to partner with these great athletes and organizations just as U.S. love for the sport is about to reach a fever pitch.”
