July 27, 2015

Major League Soccer (MLS) has signed a multi-year partnership with daily fantasy sports destination DraftKings.

The deal sees Draftkings become the exclusive Daily Fantasy Sports Destination of MLS.

MLS joins a portfolio of partners for Draftkings that includes Major League Baseball (MLB), pills NASCAR, National Hockey League (NHL) and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

As part of the agreement DraftKings will gain in-stadium exposure during MLS games and prominent placement on the League’s digital platforms, including the official MLS website.

DraftKings and MLS will also develop new daily fantasy games for MLS fans.

DraftKings will partner with a number of MLS clubs, details of which will be unveiled at a later date.

“The increasingly popular daily fantasy sports space is a proven fan development tool that we’re excited about,” said Gary Stevenson, President and Managing Director of MLS Business Ventures.

“You’ll see deep integration within our many digital platforms and you’ll see a number of club deals. We are delighted to partner with DraftKings to give our passionate fans another innovative way to experience the sport that they love.”

Jason Robins, CEO of DraftKings, said: “Soccer is an incredibly exciting sport that is underrepresented in daily fantasy and we’re going to change that in a big way.

“We are truly looking forward to collaborating with MLS on unique contests and exclusive one-of-a-kind experiences that will thrill their passionate fan base and thoroughly engage the DraftKings community.”
