MLS Names PlayStation As Presenting Sponsor For eMLS Cup

April 5, 2018

Major League Soccer (MLS) has announced PlayStation from Sony Interactive Entertainment, as the presenting sponsor of the inaugural eMLS Cup.

eMLS Cup is MLS’s premier gaming event, which debuts this week at the gaming festival PAX East. In addition, PlayStation 4 will be featured across eMLS programming as part of a joint strategy to support FIFA competitive gaming in the U.S. and Canada.

eMLS features FIFA players from the U.S. and Canada representing 19 MLS clubs. eMLS’s 2018 competitive programing begins with eMLS Cup Presented by PlayStation, running April 5-8 at PAX East at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Players will vie for berths in the EA Sports FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup in August, where they will fight to be crowned the undisputed FIFA 18 World Champion.

Preliminary rounds will begin from today until Friday, April 5 and 6, at eMLS HQ, with knockout rounds on April 7 and the Conference Championships and eMLS Cup Final on April 8. Saturday and Sunday’s matches will be held on the PAX Arena main stage and live-streamed via the PAX Arena Twitch channel and MLSsoccer.com.
