MLB Champs. Giants Secure Renewed Tequila Sponsor

April 1, 2011

Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series champions, the San Francisco Giants have secured the renewed sponsorship for the 2011 season with Familia Camarena Tequila.

Having beaten the Texas Rangers in MLB’s grand prize event last season, the California-based tequila distiller has agreed to a second season sponsoring the Giants as they prepare to defend their World Series championship.

The Giants are one of six other MLB franchises to be sponsored by the brand, celebrating its one-year anniversary in 2011, with Familia Camarena Tequila also having agreed deals with a number of other sports teams across the United States.

Gerard Thoukis, director of marketing for Camarena, said: “Familia Camarena Tequila’s inaugural year with the Giants was an incredible experience. The opportunity to continue positive momentum and exposure with a championship team in one of our marquee markets is priceless. We look forward to many more great seasons with the Giants.”

Camarena also sponsor the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and San Diego Padres in MLB, as well as National Basketball Association (NBA) teams the Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns, National Football League (NFL) franchise the Dallas Cowboys and Major League Soccer (MLS) side Chivas USA.

Jason Pearl, managing vice president of sponsorship and new business development for the San Francisco Giants, added: “We are pleased to continue our relationship with Familia Camarena Tequila. 2010 is definitely a year we will never forget, from what we accomplished on the field with a World Series championship to the start of our new partnership with Familia Camarena Tequila. We look forward to the 2011 season and the continued success of our two brands.”
