MLB and Snapchat Expand Partnership to Create ‘Snapchat Day’

Major League Baseball (MLB) has signed a new and expanded multi-year partnership with video messaging app Snapchat.

As part of the deal, the will be teaming up to launch ‘Snapchat Day’, which will involve, for the first time ever, players being permitted to use smartphones during games in order to send pictures and video to Snapchat. 

The Snapchat landing page will also feature a day-long Live Story documenting the events which will take place on 11 March.

As part of the new partnership, Snapchat will cover MLB games and events both this season, and in future years. That will include opening day, the All-Star game and the postseason.

The deal will also provide Snapchat with exclusive behind-the-scenes content featuring MLB’s top players at ballparks across the country.
